Adya for insurers

Renewal calls that reach policyholders before the grace period ends

A lapsed policy loses the customer their no-claim bonus and waiting-period credit, and loses you the renewal. Adya reminds policyholders on WhatsApp, calls the ones who haven't renewed before the grace period runs out, and answers claim and policy questions in between.

  • 30 days[1]IRDAI grace period for annual, half-yearly and quarterly health premiums
  • 15 days[1]grace period where health premiums are paid monthly
  • 1600[2]number series for service calls by IRDAI-regulated entities

Renewals slip in the last fortnight

Most policyholders intend to renew. They miss the date because the reminder email went unread and nobody called until the policy had already lapsed.

A sequence that starts on WhatsApp weeks before the due date and escalates to a call inside the grace period catches them while renewal still keeps their benefits intact — without adding agents for renewal season.

Rules that apply to insurers

Not legal advice — the rules we design around, with the source for each.

IRDAI grace periods[1]

IRDAI's Master Circular on health insurance (29 May 2024) standardised the grace period at 15 days for monthly premiums and 30 days for other modes, with cover during the grace period for instalment payers. Confirm the terms on each policy before you script them.

1600 series for service calls[2]

TRAI mandates the 1600 series for service and transactional calls by entities regulated by IRDAI, RBI, SEBI and PFRDA. Cross-sell calls are promotional and use the 140 series.

Advice stays with licensed people

Adya reminds, explains dates and amounts from the policy record, and answers status questions. Recommending cover or changing a policy is handed to a licensed advisor.
