The short answer

  • 6vendors compared on published rates
  • $0.05–0.31headline USD per minute across the global platforms
  • ₹6Adya voice per minute, telephony included; plan and number separate
  • 2India-first vendors in the list

Adya brings phone, WhatsApp, website chat and email together for teams that want to serve customers without assembling a voice stack. Add appointment booking, English and ten Indian languages, and handoff with conversation history, and the comparison becomes about running support from enquiry to resolution. Plans are published in INR and USD.

These tools are not one category. Bland, Retell and Vapi sell building blocks — you write the prompts, wire the tools and own the result. SquadStack sells outbound sales outcomes to large consumer brands, through a sales team. Adya is a product you configure rather than build, with a free plan and a published price list. Pick the category first; the vendor second.

Side-by-side comparison

Everything below is taken from each vendor's own pricing page or documentation, linked in the sources at the foot of this article. Where a vendor does not publish a figure, the table says so rather than guessing. Prices change often; verify before you sign.

Reading the rates: headline vs all-in

The per-minute numbers in that table are not comparable as printed, because they cover different amounts of the call. Vapi's $0.05/min is a hosting fee: speech recognition, the language model, the synthetic voice and the phone line are all billed on top at provider cost. Vapi's own page lists those pass-through components — for example ElevenLabs voices at $0.0146–0.0238/min and OpenAI models at $0.0077–0.0452/min. Retell's range of $0.07–0.31/min is wide for the same reason: the number moves with the model and voice you pick.

Bland takes the opposite approach and quotes a single connected-minute rate with no model pass-throughs, but adds a monthly platform fee on its higher plans and bills transferred time separately. Adya quotes one rupee rate — ₹6 per minute with telephony included — and puts chat, WhatsApp and email on the monthly plan.

Rates move — and not always down

Bland is a useful reminder that per-minute prices are not fixed. Its billing documentation records a new pricing structure effective December 5, 2025, which moved connected minutes from a previous standard rate of $0.09/min to $0.11–0.14/min depending on plan. Existing customers received a one-time credit for the difference. Nothing unusual about that — but it means a comparison built on last year's rates can be wrong by half. Check the vendor's current page, and ask how much notice they give before a rate change.

The same applies to plan structure. Vapi's paid tiers — $29/month Core, $999/month minimum on Pro — sit on top of its usage fee rather than replacing it, so a plan change alters your bill even at the same call volume. Read the current page on the day you decide, and keep a screenshot with the date.

Three lines to check on every quote

Telephony. Is the phone line inside the rate, or a second invoice from Twilio, Telnyx or a carrier?

Failed and unanswered calls. Bland charges a $0.015 minimum per outbound attempt on its telephony. Synthflow says it does not charge for failed calls. For outbound campaigns with a low connect rate this matters more than the headline rate.

Transfer time. When the AI hands a caller to a human, some vendors keep billing the transferred minutes. Bland prices them at $0.03–0.05/min depending on plan.

Vendor by vendor

Adya (Amomic)

What it is: one AI agent that answers phone calls, website chat, WhatsApp and email from a shared inbox, built for Indian businesses. It speaks 10 Indian languages plus English, detects the language automatically and follows a caller who switches mid-sentence. It hands off to a live agent with the full conversation history, and takes actions such as order-status lookups and appointment booking with Google Calendar sync.

Price: free website-chat plan at ₹0 with 100 conversations a month; Starter at ₹2,999/month; Growth at ₹7,999/month with 500 call minutes and an Indian phone number; voice at ₹6/minute, telephony included. Starter number rental is ₹399/month. Full list on the pricing page.

Best for: Indian support teams that want voice and messaging in one place without an engineering project. Configure your knowledge, booking rules and handoff process around the service your customers need.

Bland AI

What it is: a developer platform for phone agents, with its own transcription engine and a flat connected-minute rate that already includes the model and voice. Its documentation lists Hindi and Hindi in Latin script among supported languages, and a multilingual "Babel" transcription mode marked beta.

Price: $0.14/min on the free Start plan (100 calls/day cap), $0.12/min on Build at $299/month, $0.11/min on Scale at $499/month, as published September 2026.

Best for: engineering teams building high-volume, English-first phone automation who want one predictable per-minute number. Not for: teams without developers, or who need WhatsApp and email handled by the same agent.

Retell AI

What it is: a voice-agent platform with a visual flow builder and an API. Pricing is itemised per component — voice infrastructure at $0.055/min, plus the language model and voice you choose — landing at $0.07–0.31 per minute. Hindi is among its supported languages, and India telephony through Telnyx is listed at $0.015/min.

Best for: product teams who want to choose their own model and voice and see exactly what each costs. Not for: buyers who want a rupee invoice and a fixed monthly price.

Vapi

What it is: developer infrastructure for voice agents. You bring or choose the transcriber, model, voice and telephony; Vapi orchestrates them and charges $0.05/min for hosting, passing the rest through at cost. Multilingual support depends on the transcriber you configure.

Best for: engineers who want the most control and are comfortable assembling a stack. Not for: anyone who needs a working agent this week without code. Note the $999/month minimum on the Pro plan if you need its terms.

Synthflow

What it is: a no-code voice-agent builder with warm and blind call transfer. Synthflow says its per-minute pricing starts at $0.08/min with no charge for failed calls, and its pricing page states enterprise contracts start at $30,000 a year.

Best for: non-technical teams outside India who want to build call flows visually. Not for: buyers who need confirmed coverage of Indian languages beyond Hindi — we could not verify its Indian-language list from Synthflow's own pages, so ask.

SquadStack

What it is: an India-based voice AI vendor focused on outbound sales, lead qualification and collections for large consumer brands in lending, insurance and e-commerce. It lists nine languages and says its agents switch language mid-sentence. It does not publish a price; it says it prices against outcomes and includes the dialer and telephony.

Best for: large BFSI and consumer brands running outbound sales at high volume with a managed deployment. Not for: small and mid-sized businesses that want to sign up, test and pay a published price.

Which languages does Adya speak?

Ten Indian languages plus English: Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia and English — on phone calls, website chat, WhatsApp and email alike.

Adya detects the language automatically and follows a caller who switches mid-sentence between Hindi and English. There is no per-language fee and no separate agent to build per language: one agent, one knowledge base, every language in the list. The full feature list is on the features page.

Which tool fits which job

Most shortlists go wrong by comparing vendors before naming the job. The same business can need different tools for inbound support and outbound sales. This is how we would map the common Indian use cases, based on what each vendor is built and priced for.

Fit by use case, based on each vendor's published positioning, September 2026

The COD row is worth a second look, because it is where the channel decision saves more than the vendor decision. Calling every cash-on-delivery order costs several times more than messaging first and calling only the orders that go unanswered. We worked the arithmetic through in the cheapest way to confirm a COD order. If WhatsApp is part of your plan, a voice-only platform leaves half of that design for you to build; see also WhatsApp Business Calling API with an AI agent.

For inbound support, the question that separates the options is not the voice quality in a demo but what happens on the call the AI cannot finish. A developer platform gives you a transfer tool and leaves the rest — the queue, the inbox, the context your human agent sees — to you. A finished product decides those for you. Neither is wrong; they suit teams with different amounts of engineering time.

Plan your Adya setup around the customer journey

Put Adya on your shortlist when the goal is to answer enquiries and move customers to the next step across channels. A useful evaluation covers the complete workflow, not just a voice demo.

Configure support around your business. Bring your knowledge, appointment rules and escalation requirements. Adya provides a finished support product; assess any need for low-level model or telephony control during your technical review.

Plan for your customers' languages and locations. Test English and the Indian languages your customers use. For an international rollout, confirm country-number availability, connection arrangements and launch timing with our team before choosing a plan. USD pricing is available outside India.

Choose a plan for your operating needs. Starter supports a smaller team with pay-as-you-go voice. Growth adds included call minutes, an Indian phone number, more agents and seats, and outbound campaigns. Compare these with the channels and capacity your team needs.

Compare the cost of a working service. Include the plan, number, voice usage and any separate Meta template charges, plus your team's time to run the workflow. Measure completed bookings, resolved enquiries and handoff quality alongside the invoice.

How to choose: seven questions

Send these to every vendor on your shortlist. The answers decide the choice faster than a feature grid.

1. What is my total monthly invoice for my call volume, including telephony, platform fees and transfers?
2. Can I hear a live call in my customers' language — including a caller who switches between Hindi and English?
3. How does handoff to a human work, and does my agent see the conversation so far?
4. Do I pay for unanswered or failed calls?
5. Does the same agent handle WhatsApp, website chat and email, or only calls?
6. Who builds and maintains the agent — my team or yours?
7. Can I start on a free or monthly plan, or is there a contract minimum?
